Downvillage Black Garlic uses white garlic cloves are caramelised slowly for 40 days, under controlled conditions of temperature and humidity, developing especially tasty features, but also its antioxidant properties.
Only the most premium garlic is chosen matured, peeled by hand and then packed in glass jars.
The result is extremely aromatic flavours similar to liquorice, caramel, coffee and molasses. It is soft and melts easily in sauces or used as a spread on crackers and crusty bread, you can even dip them in dark chocolate for a real treat.
It is suitable for marinades, pasta, risotto, dressing for salads, even dipped in yoghurt. In particular, whole cloves can be used in pesto for pasta or risotto sauces, as a sandwich or burger sandwich, dressing for salads, tzatziki, but also to give body and scent to meat sauce sauces.
