Ermionis Carob Honey 470g
Ermionis Carob Honey
A Rare Taste of the Greek Countryside
Produced by the Bairaktaris family in the sun-drenched region of Ermionida in the Peloponnese, this exceptional Carob Honey is one of Greece’s rarest and most distinctive honey varieties. For generations, the family has dedicated themselves to traditional beekeeping, working in harmony with nature to create authentic products that reflect the unique character of their land.
Harvested in autumn from bees foraging among the carob trees growing on the family’s Bairaktaris Farm, this honey is a true expression of the Mediterranean landscape. Unlike more common floral honeys, carob honey offers a rich, complex flavour profile with notes reminiscent of caramel, malt, and cocoa, balanced by a subtle earthy finish. Its deep amber colour and distinctive character make it a favourite amongst honey enthusiasts seeking something truly unique.
Naturally rich in minerals including calcium, magnesium and iron, this rare honey has long been valued as part of the traditional Mediterranean diet. Produced in limited quantities each season, it showcases the Bairaktaris family’s commitment to preserving local traditions, sustainable beekeeping, and the remarkable biodiversity of Ermionida.
Whether drizzled over Greek yoghurt, paired with aged cheeses, stirred through warm drinks, or simply enjoyed by the spoonful, Ermionis Carob Honey offers a truly memorable taste experience that connects you directly to the land, the bees, and the family who have cared for them for generations.

About the Producers
For more than a century, the Bairaktaris family has dedicated their lives to the art of beekeeping. Their story began in 1914 in the beautiful region of Kranidi in the Peloponnese, where a passion for bees, nature, and traditional apiculture has been passed down through four generations. Today, the family continues that legacy through their award-winning Ermionis brand, producing exceptional honey and bee products that reflect the unique landscape of their homeland.
At the heart of the operation is fourth-generation apiarist Kosmas Bairaktaris and his family, who transformed generations of beekeeping knowledge into a dedicated honey enterprise in 2007. The following year, Ermionis was born, bringing the family’s pure and authentic honey to a wider audience while remaining true to the traditions that shaped them.
Their family farm overlooks the stunning bay of Kilada, where bees forage amongst wild herbs, thyme, olive trees, pomegranates, and carob trees. The farm is organically certified, and every product is created with a deep respect for the environment and the remarkable role bees play in the ecosystem. The family’s commitment to quality extends beyond honey production, with a Honey Museum established on the property to share their knowledge, heritage, and love of beekeeping with visitors from around the world.
Every jar of Ermionis honey is a reflection of four generations of dedication, preserving the flavours, traditions, and natural beauty of the Peloponnese for future generations to enjoy.
