About the brand:

The Hahalis family, owners of the  Castro Distillery, has deep roots in Chios, the island famous for its production of mastic. Originally established in the 19th century, the business moved to Patras in 1939, where it eventually flourished. The family distillery is known for preserving traditional methods of extraction and distillation, producing premium spirits like Tentoura—a liqueur native to Patras made from cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.

In the 1990s, the distillery moved to a modern facility in the Romanos region near Patras, benefiting from the area's high-quality water and optimal environmental conditions for aging spirits. Today, Castro remains a leading name in Greek spirits, blending tradition with innovation, such as collaborations with universities for product development and sustainability projects.
