About the Winery
Ktima Akrani is a family-owned winery located on the island of Kos, in the Dodecanese, where viticulture has been part of the landscape since antiquity. Nestled at the foothills of Mount Dikaios in the area of Miniera, Asfendiou, the estate benefits from clay-rocky soils, sea breezes and abundant Aegean sunshine, ideal conditions for producing expressive, character-driven wines.
Established in the early 2000s and welcoming visitors since 2004, Ktima Akrani was created with a clear vision: to revive and elevate the winemaking tradition of Kos while embracing modern techniques and sustainable vineyard practices. The estate spans approximately 15 hectares, cultivating both indigenous and international grape varieties with careful attention to low yields and optimal ripeness.
The name “Akrani” is inspired by traditional Aegean folk songs, symbolising friendship and companionship values that define the winery’s philosophy. Every bottle reflects a commitment to authenticity, balance and a true sense of place.
Beyond production, Ktima Akrani offers visitors an immersive wine experience. Tastings overlook the surrounding vineyards and the island’s rugged landscape, inviting guests to connect with the land, the story and the people behind each wine.
