Hey Guys - bought the brass briki - great item - looks fantastic and perfect size - one thing i have noticed is that the coffee tastes abit different from when i used to make it in the old $20 aluminium briki - the coffee from this new briki tastes abit almost like its burnt - is it maybe the heat is too strong - i have a gas cooktop and turnn the gas right down but it still seems to cook quicker than before when i had the flame on medium - anyways not really a problem just a comment - everytime i hold the new briki in my hand it makes me feel a bit more Greek if thats possible - love it - have a great day.

regards,

Arthur

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you love your new brass briki, it really is a special piece, and we completely understand how it makes you feel “a bit more Greek” every time you use it!

Brass heats much faster than aluminium, so the slightly “burnt” taste you noticed is usually due to higher heat transfer. A very low flame is key. We recommend:

• Using the lowest flame possible
• Positioning the briki slightly to the side of the flame
• Lifting it off the heat just before the kaimaki rises too high

Once you adjust the heat, the flavour becomes beautifully smooth and authentic.
