About the Producers
The story of the "Sodis" family began in 1875 with the founding of the first "Sodis" Pharmacy, a cherished family business that has been passed down through generations. In the 1970s, Ioannis Sodis, the grandfather, took the reins of the enterprise. A trained chemist and pharmacist, Ioannis possessed a keen entrepreneurial spirit that led him to become the exclusive representative and producer for two renowned French companies. This pivotal role provided him with invaluable expertise in cosmetic production.
Driven by his passion for innovation and deep love for his homeland, Ioannis envisioned harnessing the unique benefits of mastic gum in cosmetics. His groundbreaking achievement was the creation of the world's first commercial product featuring mastic: Masticdent, a therapeutic toothpaste. Although he passed away prematurely, his visionary legacy endured through the fourth generation, who expanded his influence by developing a comprehensive line of 150 cosmetic products under the Mastic Spa brand. Each product is rooted in the remarkable properties of mastic gum, enhanced by other natural ingredients.
Today, the fifth generation, led by Vina and Sofia Sodi, continues to elevate the Mastic Spa brand. They have broadened the cosmetic range while introducing an edible line, Mastic Deli, featuring homemade sweets and traditional desserts, all enriched with mastic oil. This new venture celebrates the versatile and beneficial qualities of this extraordinary ingredient.
