Mediterranea By Anastasia Miari
Life-Perfected Recipes from the Grandmothers of the Mediterranean
From the olive groves of Greece to the sunlit shores of the Côte d’Azur, discover the dishes that define the Mediterranean—told by the women who know them best.
Mediterranea is a rich and heartfelt journey through the kitchens of the Mediterranean’s most treasured cooks: its grandmothers. At the heart of the book are the beloved Greek recipes passed down through generations—vegetable-rich one pots, flaky pies, traditional sweets, and simple, soul-warming meals that celebrate the bounty of the land and sea.
These time-honoured Greek dishes are joined by vibrant salads from Turkey, rustic pastas from Sicily, delicate seafood recipes from Croatia, and elegant desserts from the south of France. Each recipe is shared alongside the personal stories and culinary wisdom of the matriarchs who perfected them, offering a glimpse into their lives, their traditions, and their deep connection to food and family.
With evocative storytelling and stunning location photography, Mediterranea is more than a cookbook—it’s a visual and cultural celebration of one of the world’s greatest food regions, lovingly preserved by the women who keep its flavours alive.
A beautiful tribute to seasonality, simplicity, and the art of cooking with heart, this is a book to cook from, to learn from, and to treasure.
