Samos Nectar - Sweet Wine giftboxed

Samos Nectar is one of the finest wines in the world from overripe, sun-dried grapes.  It ages for 6 years in oak barrels.

Its colour is deep amber, with beautiful orange hints, with a nose of raisins, dried fruits, honey and dried nuts. Good acidity, long aftertaste with smoky notes and macaroons. It manoeuvres between aromas of raisins, plums and roasted cinnamon.  In the mouth one can detect hints of toffee, raisins, walnuts, mature oranges, cloves, intertwined with sweetness and “coated” with an amazing minerality that gives a completely new dimension to the sweet sun-dried wines.

The mouth surprises us with its freshness, giving the wine a leading role on the table. At the temperature of 12-14 ° C,

Samos Nectar takes control of the palate and sends it on a journey of intense aromas and mature sweetness.

A harmonious and powerful ensemble that can easily accompany exotic sweet and sour dishes, Strong desserts such as baklava and walnut pie, chocolate and caramel desserts or with roasted nuts. It is also combined with strong cheeses such as stilton (blue and white), matured goats’ cheeses and various smoked ones.

The UWC Samos is one of the oldest cooperatives in Greece, it was founded in 1934. The history of the Samos Cooperative through time proves that the alliance of the vine growers was a strategically important move for the preservation of viticulture and the protection of the producers’ income.

The wines of Samos have obtained hundreds of distinctions in international competitions and fairs.  It is worth noting that the first award was received in 1937, while every year more are added on the long list of international honorary awards and distinctions.
The wine from Samos Muscat holds one of the oldest origin-controlled appellations in Europe (Protected Designation of Origin Samos).
Since its founding, the UWC Samos receives the grapes and produces exquisite wines in two modern wineries in Malagari (the capital of the island) and Karlovassi (the second biggest town) with a total capacity of 20.000 tons.
