Stray Dog Wild Gin starts with wild botanicals, herbs and citrus hand-foraged from the Greek countryside, where the Mediterranean sunshine and crisp mountain spring water conspire to create bright, savoury flavours unique to the region…and to the world of gin.
Sage -Savory, warm and comforting, sage leaves are behind the appetizing, food complementing flavor of our gin.
Bay Leaf- Bay leaf notes are lightly floral yet full of depth. This is the underpinning of complexity for those with a keen nose and palate.
Rosemary- Adventurous gourmands understand the uplifting effect rosemary brings to any recipe.
Cardamom- Elegant and mysterious, if there was a spice made for seduction, cardamom would be it.
Lemon and Orange- If sunshine were a fruit it would be citrus. Lemon and orange put the bright zest of the Mediterranean into every glass.
Mastiha- This crystalline tree resin aka the “Tears of Chios” was once worth its weight in gold for its healing properties. We use mastiha for its subtle yet playful piney finish that enhances the fresh taste of our gin.
Fennel Seed- Every concoction needs some teeth. Sweet fennel seed has always symbolized courage and strength and remains among the most sought after flavors of the region.
Coriander- Healthy, green and grassy. A whiff of our freshly picked coriander makes us high on life.
Juniper- The foundation of all gins, our juniper captures the depth of natural forest berries and unifies our unique blend.
Stray Dog Wild Gin started with a challenge: is it possible to bottle a moment? Not just any moment, but one that captures the spontaneous and free spirit of Greece. Where an unexpected turn off an island road leads to a secret beach. Or wandering through the cobblestone streets of Athens until sunrise reminds you that some nights can never be planned, you can only let them happen.
The idea for Stray Dog Wild Gin came about in such a moment. Inspired by an off-road exploration through the mountains of northern Greece, Johnny Livanos set to work alongside our master distiller to find the perfect combination of wild-foraged botanicals, Mediterranean citrus, and mountain spring water to capture the essence of the untamed life.
Hand-crafted in small batches using traditional copper pot stills, Stray Dog Wild Gin embodies what happens when we allow ourselves to let life unfold, and to appreciate the time and the beauty that is right in front of us.
