"Kourabies" Greek Almond and Vanilla Shortbread

Based on the original traditional recipe, Petits Grecs have come up with a 100% natural, nutritious product, by including a high content of roasted crushed almonds, an even sprinkling of castor sugar on the outside and pure, fresh butter that offers a “melting in the mouth” texture. And, of course … the classic vanilla flavor we all love.

Many regions claim the origin of the recipe and every place has its own version, which it proudly passes on from generation to generation.

Our culinary journey through Greece in search of the recipe that would form the basis of our own, inevitably led us to the port of Kavala. Many consider the recipe from Kavala to be the “authentic” one and it is certainly the most famous and widespread of all.
