35n Cretan Distillery Tsikoudia Minotaur 200ml
Earthy and fruity aromas. A spirit with earthy aromas and subtle fruit
A blended Tsikoudia of indigenous Cretan varieties, with a label that refers to Minoan Crete. A spirit with refined, earthy aromas and subtle fruit.
How to enjoy.
Cheese Pairings:
Aged Graviera: A Cretan cheese with a nutty and slightly sweet flavour that will complement the subtle fruity notes of the spirit.
Pecorino Romano: The saltiness and sharpness of this cheese will contrast nicely with the earthy profile of the Tsikoudia, creating a balanced flavour experience.
Meat Pairings:
Grilled Lamb: The earthy, herbaceous qualities of grilled lamb will enhance the spirit’s profile. Try it with a marinade featuring olive oil, garlic, and fresh herbs.
Cured Charcuterie: Cured meats like prosciutto or smoked sausage will provide savoury richness that balances the Tsikoudia’s fruitiness and earthiness.
Moussaka: This classic Greek dish with layers of eggplant, minced lamb, and béchamel will match the Tsikoudia’s complexity and earthy undertones.
Nuts & Dried Fruits:
Roasted Almonds: Their mild, slightly sweet flavour will complement the subtle fruitiness and enhance the Tsikoudia’s smoothness.
Dried Figs: The natural sweetness of dried figs will align with the fruit-forward aspects of the spirit.
Walnuts: A great choice for enhancing the earthy side of the spirit, with a slightly bitter edge that balances the drink’s complexity.
Fruit Pairing:
Poached Pears: The soft, sweet flavour of poached pears can enhance the Tsikoudia’s subtle fruity notes.
Apple Slices with Greek Honey: Fresh apples with a drizzle of honey will play up the spirit’s fruity side, while the honey brings out its smoothness.
Sweets:
Baklava: The rich, honey-sweet layers of this pastry will complement the earthy and fruity elements in the Tsikoudia, creating a satisfying contrast.
Chocolate with Orange: Dark chocolate with a hint of orange zest can accentuate the fruitiness and provide a touch of sweetness to balance the earthy qualities.
This Cretan Tsikoudia will pair well with Mediterranean flavours, especially those that have a mix of savoury, salty, and subtly sweet elements, providing a delightful contrast to its earthy character.
Preferably served at 12°C, after letting it rest in your glass for a few minutes.
The name 35N of the tsikoudia signifies the geographical parallel 35N that crosses the island of Crete. It is Crete’s geographical location on earth, which determines its unique climate and all the tasty goods growing on the island. For the Cretan distillery, Cretan tsikoudia 35N and Rakomelo 35N is a distillate made with passion, full of stories and experiences.
35N Cretan Distillery was founded in order to produce excellent tsikoudia spirits worthy of the history and tradition of this local spirit. Using grape varieties with distinctive, unique taste characteristics and high quality, they produce blended tsikoudia 35N, single-variety tsikoudia from Moschato and Syrah and the aromatic rakomelo, tsikoudia with honey 35N. The distillation takes place in Rethymno, in the distillery of Elias Melissourgos.
