Brass Pepper Mill 230mm
Alexander Mills - Manual operated Brass Pepper Mill
Based in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece, the makers of these handcrafted mills are a family-run company who have produced a range of grinding mills since 1977. The robust design of the mills was originally based on a portable coffee mill created in the early 1900’s for Greek soldiers to use in the field.
Diameter: 40 mm

This pepper grinder features a food-safe zinc alloy grinding mechanism, adjustable for a range of grinds from fine to coarse. The durable all-metal body and flanged base provide exceptional stability during use. Designed to truly grind rather than crush, the mechanism ensures maximum flavour and aroma with every turn.
Brass and copper are naturally resistant to corrosion, but like all metals, they will gradually oxidise over time. This occurs through exposure to air, moisture, and frequent handling. As they age, these metals develop a unique patina—a soft, rich finish that reflects their use and character.
Over time, the surface will naturally darken and lose its initial shine. Copper may take on warm brown or reddish hues, while brass tends to deepen to a darker, reddish-golden tone. This transformation is part of the beauty of these materials.
However, if you prefer to maintain a bright, polished finish, the exterior of the mill can be easily restored using a soft cloth and a standard metal polish.
Please note: prolonged exposure to excessive moisture may result in more pronounced corrosion, such as green-blue or grey discoloration. These should be gently removed and can be avoided by adhering to the care instructions provided.
