Greek Odysea: Flavours of Greece from Pantry to Plate

This is more than a cookbook. Greek Odysea is a journey through Greece, its kitchens, its producers and the simple ingredients that make Greek food so special.

Filled with over 70 recipes, beautiful photography and stories from across Greece, Greek Odysea celebrates the way Greeks really cook and eat generously, seasonally and always with good ingredients at the heart of the table. From salads and small plates to one-pan dishes, slow-cooked favourites, recipes made for sharing and something sweet to finish, these are dishes you’ll want to cook again and again.

Naturally, we have a particularly special connection to this book.

Our olive oil suppliers and friends, the Sellas family, are featured within its pages, sharing one of their own family recipes Greek roasted vegetables with feta. It’s exactly the kind of food we love: uncomplicated, generous and made to be placed in the middle of the table and shared.

The Sellas family are one of the small Greek producers whose story reflects everything we believe in at The Greek Providore family, provenance, tradition and an enormous respect for the ingredients they produce.

Greek Odysea captures that same philosophy beautifully. Olive oil, feta, honey, tomatoes, yoghurt, herbs and vegetables become the foundation for food that feels unmistakably Greek.

A beautiful book to cook from, leave on the kitchen bench, gift to someone who loves Greece  or simply open whenever you’re missing it.

For us, this is what Greek food is all about: good produce, family recipes, stories passed down and a table with room for everyone.

A little piece of Greece for your kitchen.

About the Author

Greek Odysea is the debut cookbook from Odysea, the family-run Greek food company founded by Panayis Manuelides in 1991.

For more than three decades, Odysea has travelled throughout Greece discovering exceptional ingredients, working closely with small-scale producers and sharing the flavours and traditions of Greek food beyond Greece.

The book draws on Panayis’ own story, from memories of his childhood and his Yiayia Vali’s kitchen to the producers, places and recipes encountered throughout Odysea’s journey.

At its heart is a deep respect for provenance, seasonality and the people behind the food, values that resonate very closely with us here at The Greek Providore.
