Kourouna Aged Cypriot Rum Sugar Cane/Molasses

Born from the sun and the soil of Cyprus.

The island’s abundant sunshine and rich volcanic earth create the perfect alchemy for the grains, botanicals, and fruits that thrive here. From these ingredients, grown in harmony with nature. Aristides Distilling crafts spirits that capture the soul of Cyprus, working exclusively with local producers who share their devotion to authenticity and quality. Every bottle tells the story of their land, from the field to the glass.

Centuries ago, Cyprus was famed across Europe as a leading producer of “sweet salt” the prized sugar of the Middle Ages. Remnants of those ancient sugar mills still stand in Kolossi, Potamia, and Kouklia, silent witnesses to a time when sugar was treasure. Today, a handful of small sugarcane plantations continue that legacy, providing the pure cane juice that gives life to our Kourouna Rum.

Kourouna Aged Rum is a tribute to craftsmanship and time. Matured patiently in charred oak barrels, it unveils deep mahogany tones and a complex, velvety character. Expect an enticing bouquet of caramel, vanilla, and warm spice, beautifully interwoven with layers of dried fruit and oak. A sip that lingers bold, elegant, and unmistakably Cypriot.

The Aristides Distilling Journey
The story of Aristides Distilling begins not in Cyprus, but in the rolling hills of the Ozark Mountains in southern Missouri. Around 2008, co-founder Aris Aristidou joined forces with Jim Blansit to establish the first craft distillery in the Ozarks since Prohibition. Their passion and dedication quickly earned recognition, landing them **three prestigious spirit awards** from the American Distilling Institute. In 2013, Aris and Jim were joined by co-founder Marianna Ktoridou Aristidou, who helped expand the distillery’s success, distributing an impressive range of whiskeys and rums across the state.
In 2016, Aris and Marianna returned to Cyprus, ready to bring their expertise home and embark on an exciting new chapter. After two years of meticulous research, planning, and overcoming challenges, Aristides Distilling came to life in early 2019, officially beginning operations on January 1, 2020.
Aristides Distilling is more than just a distillery—it represents a new era in craft spirit production. With a focus on innovative, precise distilling techniques and rigorous quality controls, Aristides Distilling minimizes guesswork and maximizes excellence. This commitment to precision and quality is what defines their philosophy: “The New Age of Craft Distilling.”
Drawing inspiration and raw ingredients from the rich landscape of Cyprus, Aristides Distilling is dedicated to crafting high-quality, small-batch spirits that reflect the island’s unique character. This commitment requires a blend of **hard work, creativity, expertise, and meticulous attention to detail—qualities that shine through in every bottle.
