KYTHREA Single Malt Cyprus Whiskey- Barley
The abundant sunshine and the rich volcanic soil are the secret combination behind the unique character and intense aroma of the grains, botanicals, and fruit grown on the island of Cyprus. We work exclusively with local sources to produce unique spirits that reflect the beautiful nature of our island, from the field to this bottle.
Aristides Distilling is proud to be at the forefront of the Cyprus Whisky movement with our “Kythrea” whisky series brand. Continuing on this path, we present the first Single Malt Cyprus Whisky, born from our very own six-row barley variety, “Kythrea”. Malted, mashed-in, fermented, distilled, and aged in ex-bourbon American oak casks at our distillery in Tseri, Nicosia, this unique whisky has a deep colour with ruby tones, a rich-aromatic nose, and a smooth, fruity, sweet, zesty character, making this first of its kind Single Malt Whisky, a must-try!
This unfiltered Single Malt Whisky presents a balance of toasted oak and hints of vanilla, caramel, toffee, and butterscotch flavours blended with hidden spice undertones that reveal themselves towards the end. Aging in ex-bourbon casks and the well-balanced combination of local six-row barley “Kythrea” and wheat varieties make a unique recipe that offers a rich, full-bodied grain whiskey, the only one that is malted, fermented, distilled, and aged in Cyprus!
