About the Producers
Lia olives are grown on a family estate nestled near the picturesque town of Filiatra in Messinia, southern Greece, a land shaped by Ionian Sea breezes, ancient myths and a deep connection to nature’s rhythms. Here, amidst gently rolling hills and the cool coastal winds, olive trees thrive in soil that has supported generations of growers.
The story of Lia is rooted in family, tradition and a lifelong devotion to quality. Long before bottles bore the name Lia, the estate was nurtured by a modest grove that belonged to the founders’ parents, who first planted olive trees in 1975, just 19 in total. From these humble beginnings, the grove has flourished under the care of siblings Cristina and Konstantinos Stribacu, who have spent decades learning, refining and perfecting every step of the cultivation process.
Cristina’s passion for the land grew from childhood play among the trees into a life’s work that marries artistry with agricultural wisdom. After studying abroad and gaining deep insight into olive oil culture, she returned home to build Lia into something extraordinary, not just a product, but an expression of terroir, heritage and heart.
Today, the estate spans thousands of Koroneiki olive trees, all hand-harvested and cold-pressed within hours of picking to preserve the fruit’s delicate balance of nutrients, antioxidants and flavour. Every bottle of Lia reflects this hands-on care, blending time-honoured cultivation with thoughtful modern techniques that honour the ecosystem and protect the land for future generations.
