Founded in 2012 by Alexandra Kouziaki, a third-generation knitter, Plexida is a slow fashion brand of knitwear, ethically and sustainably handcrafted in Greece.
The craft of knitting was passed down from woman to woman in Alexandra’s family; from her great-grandmother, a silk-worm farmer, to her mother, a professional knitter, the rich history of the family craft guided her to a creative outlet-turned-business.
They combine traditional centuries-old techniques with timeless and minimal designs to create premium quality, long-lasting, and essential pieces that will be enjoyed for many years.
Plexida is a woman-led and all-women employee business, and by nurturing our local artisans’ skills, they take pride in our inclusive and empowering work environment. Through their commitment to ethically produced raw materials from Europe, sourced from Greek businesses, they strive for local development and economic sustainability.
Their vision is to create environmentally responsible garments and accessories that will become part of your history. To that end, we implement a zero waste approach; every item is either made to order or pre-made in limited batches, while all yarn scraps are saved up for future projects.
